Loretta has been unemployed for almost that entire time and people all over this country are pretty disappointed about the whole change thing. It changed alright mostly for the bad....It will be very interesting coming this november we will see if Obama gets some of that change he has been speaking about himself.

Scared for this country!

I am scared for this country, more than I have ever been before. Our country has elected a president who bows before the ruler of Saudi Arabia and now when he spoke at Georgetown University, the religious symbols were covered as to not detract from his speech. Ok I am sorry, but by this obvious anti christian act, this in itself is a distraction. Not only was it requested by the white house, it was followed thru by president of the Catholic college. I fear for this country and where it is headed. Our forefathers built this country on Christian values, leaving religious persecution to live in a county full of God. That is why our country has prospered so well. But since Roe Vs Wade, Separation of Church and State, and our generation where we put 'things' ahead of family, this country is quickly dying. The only thing we can do is continue to pray and stand up for our religious freedom and rights.

Here is the link on the Georgetown University speech:

Unemployment

Well unemployment has hit this family hard this week. I lost my job on Wednesday and Beth (Bob's sister) lost her job Thursday. And a friend of ours lost his job on Friday. Well they say things come in threes, so that was three, the bloodshed can end.
Previously within our family, Chris Bauer, Laura Bauer, Nikki Stachacz have all lost their jobs since December. Laura Bauer has found one, Nikki hasn't, and I haven't heard if Chris has or not.

This is a very tough time in our economy, nationally as well as globally. The best thing we can do for our world is pray. Pray every day to whom ever you call your God that we pull together and survive. I really believe that our country lost the meaning of why our forefathers built it. We became too caught up with ourselves and too selfish. We have governed God out of our government, schools, and general thinking. It is time for some cleansing. And this may just be it. It is when we realize we need to get down on our knees and pray that positive things start to happen. As far as this time with our country, it is bringing it to its knees. So everyone take advantage of this position and pray.

Bob and I will survive, we will make it through this time. While I am unemployed I am going to take some time and play with my grandkids and smell the carnations......(can't smell the roses as I am allergic...lol)

New Prez

In watching the Inauguration today, I was praying for the safety of our new President Obama and the safety of our country. At the end of the invocation when we prayed the Our Father, I was overwhelmed with the fact that we as a country were all praying at the same time. And what a flood of prayers must have hit the gates of heaven.
In praying our evening prayer from the Liturgy of the Hours today, one of the Intercessions were "Enlighten all legislators, to enact laws in the spirit of wisdom and justice." How appropriate this was for today more than any other day.
We have been praying every day for our new President and our country. It is in God's hands now.

The world of FACEBOOK

Well to keep up with the family, Bob and I decided to join Facebook. It is an easy way to keep in touch with family and friends. The day after we signed up on Facebook our local newspaper, St Pete Times, had an article about signing up on Facebook. We are always on the cutting edge of the news.....lol..... Then there was something on CNN about the popularity of Facebook and the networking tool it can be. Well that will be it.....Facebook is now common place among us older folks, so it will certainly go down hill. Sorry Facebook. :(

A Thanksgiving message

I wanted to wish my family both near and far a very wonderful Happy Thanksgiving!

I am thankful for my husband, my children, my family, my life here in Florida. I am also thankful for the country we live in and the freedom to be able to worship the God of my choice.
I am thankful for my father & mother, who new what was best for me and handed me over to her sister & brother-in-law at very stressful and trying time of their life.
I am thankful for my adopted parents who raised me as their own from the time I was 2 weeks old, even tho they already had 4 other children and then had 3 more children after me.
For without these selfless acts, I would not be sitting here today at my computer typing about the family I am thankful for. I would not have my beautiful 3 children and their families. I would not have my wonderful husband whom I have been married to for 30 years.

I would be sitting, some where else, living some other life.

So please accept my humble thanks for a wonderful day with family!

Loretta
